What is your “why”, your life purpose? This is not an easy question, but the answer that follows can be your strongest motivation. In this post you’ll discover how to find your “why” and in the next one I’ll share with you my own personal experience in dealing with heavy depression and my “why” that helped me to bounce back.
Nowadays, it is relatively easy to get a solution for many kinds of problems. You can even ask Google for what you need! But everyone is always searching the “how to’s”.
How to get thinner, how to get richer, how to become a better person, how to get rid of depression, how to, how to, how to…
But we rarely stop for a moment to think about the “why”, don’t we?
Always find a reason to laugh. It may not add years to your life but will surely add life to your years.
The reason that drives you to do something – and I mean the real, truest and deepest reason– is always the strongest emotion that you hold on to when you’re striving for a different situation.
When you’re down, looking up from the bottom of the deepest black pit, you need a light to guide you up. The “why” is your light. Find it.
Not to be unhelpful or rude or anything, but that’s a task only you can accomplish. Do you think someone else knows you better than yourself? –I wouldn’t agree but– okay, go ahead and ask them for a piece of advice.
But most important of all, you need to take a wide perspective on your life. Just as if you were looking at a landscape or one of those huge and beautiful historical paintings. At first glance, you don’t even know where to focus. But then, the longer you stare, you start finding certain fragments that capture your attention.
Details matter, so go ahead and concentrate on them. The people or situations that put a smile on your face are the ones worth fighting for.
The “why” will be the one thing that keeps you motivated, even when you are struggling with life.
In order to truly change something, you must find a strong and emotional why. Go for what your heart tells you. In matters like these, your gut feeling is one of the most reliable tools you have.
Once you find out “why” you are doing what you’re doing, the “how to” is a piece of cake. And I’m not even exaggerating! The “how to” will come so easy that you’ll be surprised and it will be so because of your positive attitude.
I mean, positive thinking has even cured people from cancer! So why wouldn’t you like to try it to solve your own problems?
Besides, as I said before, the Internet and all the resources we have at hand are full of “how to’s”. Books, TED talks, this blog! Those kinds of sources of information will appear one after the other once you start walking the path to feeling good. Trust me on this one.
